Celebrity Lines

So a couple weeks ago... since the last time I blogged, I decided to check out the Kohl's at my local mall (yes, one of the malls near my house has a Kohl's in it). I was interested in seeing Avril Lavigne's line there. I felt nostalgic for the 5th grade where me and every girl I knew wanted to be an edgy rocker and listen to Avril Lavigne. Seeing the line, it was kinda childish for the junior department but I was kind of expecting it. It thought it was really similar to Hilary Duff's and the Olsen sister's line. You know, it has that Kira Palastina, Limited Too feel to it. If I was an elementary student again, this line would be to die for.

--Extra sidenote.. I'm at school right now looking at pictures of pastries online. This is a stupid idea since I'm beyond hungry. I'm must drop by the pastry shop on the way home today.

Back To School

This Thursday I went back to school as a Sophmore. Even though I've only been at school for about 3 days,we have so much homework! It's like the middle of the year already. Ever since Freshman year, I've been going to a private all-girls school. So you can say, I've been in private school for about a year. There are no guys to impress, but I always make an effort to dress up. Our uniform is pretty plain: a grey skirt and white shirt with the optional sweater or vest. We can also wear blue sweats, would that be fashionable though? The outfit pictured above is the style I try to go for.Very girly and preppy with lots of pink. Acessorizing is what I really try to do when I go to school, where everyone is basically wearing the same thing. Flats are also a cute and equally comfy alternative to tennis shoes.

The rest of my school life, I've been in public school where we had "color codes". Basically students could wear whatever they wanted to as long as it was the bland colors: black, white and grey. But students could pretty much bend the rules a bit. On the right side of the above picture was my style back then. I was really into Abercrombie and Hollister back then. I took my color code for granted a lot. Complaining that I couldn't wear my light washed destroyed denim to school. For me, the HCO and A&F look was the ultimate fashion. If I went back to a similar school today, my style would be quite different. I'd probably try to pull off the colorful backpack and some shorts. Since our color choices are limited, I'd dress in basics and go for an urban look. Really different from the preppy acessories I sport today.

Headbands

I haven't updated in such a long time! My friend said I should make this blog more interesting, so I'll try to do that. I went back to school shopping yesterday. I bought kneesocks on sale, a headband and a pencil box. The weather said it was gonna be really hot the first day of school so I don't think I'm going be wearing the kneesocks anytime soon. I really like Forever 21's new headbands. I got really into headbands this summer and bought a lot of new ones. I like silk ones with bows. They remind me of Gossip Girl. The pictured headband here is a Jennifer Behr collection. My friend and I were trying them on at the mall yesterday.

Robotic Puppy

I think that everyone should have a soft spot for cute puppies. Especially if it's Hachiko the robot dog. Doesn't Hachiko look realistic?

Chanel Fall 2008

(google images)
I haven't been blogging as much as I should have. I have no excuse to not blog. It's summer vacation and we'll all be getting back to school soon. Well yesterday was a lazy day watching runway shows for Fall 2008. My favorite show would have to be Chanel's. I loved all the outfits as they were something I'd wear in my everyday life. What I liked best about this show was the huge Chanel carousel that the models all posed on. It was so pretty, decked out in huge Chanel bags and acessories. How I wish I could take a ride on that carousel.

My Mosaic

Props to bohemiangirldesigns for making this up. It's a late night, well..not really. I'm just tired from a fun girls night out. My girls and I shopped till we dropped and hit on the cute waiter guy at the place we had dinner at. Well my friend showed me bohemiangirldesigns post on her mosaic and dared me to do one and here it is. Taking a good look at it, I find that it does represent me quite well. Sweets, beautiful places, girlyness and of course Wu Chun. Get to know me better and you'll find that I love Wu Chun just as much as I love fashion. Random and fashion lacking this blog is, I'm gonna say good night.

Kidrobot

At a recent visit to the mall I wandered into the local Metropark that used to sell my favorite Tokidoki bags. I haven't been to that store since they stopped selling Tokidoki bags. In the place of the Tokidoki bags where these colorful, almost tacky Kidrobot items. I wasn't impressed with the printed jackets. They looked oh too common for me. I felt like you could get a similar jacket somewhere else for half the price. After doing a little googling of this brand online I found the Yummy Breakfast Keychain line by Heidi Kenney. These keychains are so adorable and affordable at only $4.95 a piece. They gave me a different perspective of the brand and didn't appear as happy meal like as the Adult Swim Kidrobot figurines I saw at the mall. I can't decide which keychain to buy. They're all so cute!

Mini Road Trip

Yesterday my friend invited me to take a trip to Monterey, California with her family. It started out early and we got lost along the way. A trip that could have taken at the most 2 hours ended up being a 6 hour drive. Anyhow the view was spectacular and did not feel like the Bay Area at all. We went to the first beach we saw on the 17 mile drive. Boring as it appeared, it ended up being the highlight of the day. The houses were beautiful and obviously not affordable. But why was there a lack of fashion in the shopping center? Yes, I understand that the 17 mile drive is primarily a golfing community but do they only have to sell golfing attire? It really wouldn't hurt to add a few, cute clothing boutiques other than ones that sell golfing clothes. Otherwise it was a fun day.

Big Hair

I love the movie Marie Antionette. Not for the story itself, it felt like a long history lesson with an unhappy ending. Then again there are only a handful of stories in history that have a happy ending. That's unfortunate for me, considering that if you know me I'm a sucker for happy endings. Anyways, what made this movie enjoyable for me was the fashion. I could not get enough of the beautiful, victorian dresses Kristin Dunst wore! I'd give anything to walk around in dresses that elegant and girly without looking completely stupid and out of date. But what I really liked was the big hair in this movie. It inspired me to tease my hair into more toned down versions for school, without seeming like Marge Simpson. I was satisfied with the results and I'm glad that this style has caught one. From the Simpsons to the Chanel runway it seems like big, teased hair is the new "it" trend.

It's Think Vogue

I'm Think Vogue. A newbie when it comes to blogging but everyone has to start somewhere right? My dream is to work in the fashion industry. Doing what you ask? Well I'm pretty much undecided when it comes to that. Likewise, impossible is not in my vocabulary. My favorite color is pink. I love zebra print and I'm into colorful dresses and flats. Juggling fashion and high school is something I am completely ready for.
